WC 8.7.4 INTRINSIC AND TACTICAL SAFETY

Definitions:

 

Intrinsic Safety is defined as: Safety aspects inherent to the design of the system.

Tactical Safety is defined as: Safety aspects inherent to the design of the system. Safety aspects related to the application of procedures and to the adoption of defences, where the design of the system is inadequate to achieve a given safety level.

 

Intrinsic Safety and Airport and Airspace Design:


IFATCA Policy is:

IFATCA recommends that all parties involved in airport and airspace design address intrinsic safety with the highest priority.
